Cell Phones - Electronic Devices
Students are encouraged to keep all electronic devices (CD players, iPods, radios, PSP's, cell phones etc) at home. The school holds no responsibility to students who bring such devices onto school property. Cell phones, head phones, i-pods, etc, are not permitted on campus. These items will be confiscated if seen or heard during school hours. Items will only be returned to a parent/guardian after 24 hours after 3:00 pm..
If a student possesses a cellular phone, it should be turned off and kept inside a book bag, purse or similar container. It may not be used. It may not be allowed to emit any ringtone or other noise on school grounds or during any school sponsored program or activity including transportation.

Excused Absences
Upon returning to school following an absence, the student must provide a note signed by the parent/guardian and include:

Lockers
Locks and lockers can be rented for $5.00. Students may not change locker assignments unless approved by the administrator responsible for lockers. Students are prohibited from sharing their lockers or combinations with other students. Only school-approved locks are to be used. All other locks are unacceptable and will be cut off.
Any locker or lock problems are to be reported to the Student Services Office. Student personal belongings should NOT be left in lockers overnight. All student lockers are subject to search without warning pursuant to Florida Law FS2321.250. Book bags are subject to search without warning with reasonable suspicion.

All students are to wear their ID badge at all times. New and incoming 9th grade students will receive their ID badge during the first few weeks of school free of charge. Lost ID badges can be replaced for $5.

Student Leaving Early
Failure to follow the early dismissal procedures may result in an unexcused absence and possible disciplinary action. Students returning to school during the same day or next day must check in through Student Services with documentation to have absence excused.
- Parent/Guardians may sign out their student for early dismissal between the hours of 7:35 and 2:15 in the front office.
- Students who drive themselves must obtain an Early Dismissal Pass from Student Services before they can sign themselves out in the front office.
- There is no early dismissal after 2:15 pm unless a note has been sent in prior.

Parking permits will be available for sale to Seniors and juniors on August 13 and August 14 from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the Student Services Office. Students must present a current Florida driver’s license, Florida vehicle registration and proof of insurance with the $40 fee and the completed information form.

The School District and Lake Worth High School are not responsible for any theft or damage to automobiles, mopeds, motorcycles or bicycles. When you drive to school, you park at your own risk. For your protection, please lock your vehicle. To ensure the safety of all, it is important that motorized vehicles are properly and safely operated. Please observe the following rules while driving and parking on campus.

- Students must park their vehicles in the designated lot only. Students parking in the visitor or faculty lots are subject to towing and disciplinary action.
- Parking Permits are required on all student driven vehicles. Students who drive cars to school must purchase a parking permit from the school at a cost of $40 to be displayed on the front windshield. You must present your driver’s license, registration and proof of insurance at the time of purchase.
- Parking permits will be available for sale to Seniors and Juniors in the Student Services Office.
- Drive defensively. The speed limit is 10 mph. Maintain safe distances between cars and watch for pedestrians. Take extra care in the rain or during darkness.
- Upon arriving in the morning, park and exit the vehicle immediately. Take all of your books with you. If you must re-enter the lot, get permission from one of the assistant principals. Be sure to turn off your lights and lock your car. Please use the school’s trash baskets for the trash from your car.
- Bicycles should be chained and locked in the fenced bike area in front of the school.
- The school cannot assume responsibility for any theft or damage to autos, mopeds, motorcycles or bicycles. For our protection, lock your vehicle.
- Students who violate parking or driving regulations will be referred to the Assistant Principal’s office.
- All school rules and policies apply to the parking lot, as it is part of the campus.
- All drivers MUST stay with their vehicles when dropping off and picking up students from school and/or school activities.
- PARKING IS A PRIVILEGE.
Student Planners
All students will receive a student planner during the first week of school. Guidance counselors will be speaking to all classes on how to effectively use the planner . There is no cost to the student for the first planner. However, $5.00 will be charged for each additional planner. The planners will contain valuable information for the students to use throughout the year.

Tardiness will not be tolerated. Students are expected to be in class on time and ready to begin instruction when the final bell rings. Consequences for tardies will be teacher detentions, afterschool detentions and/or Saturday detentions. Excessive tardies may result in further disciplinary action.
Students late to class due to an appointment must provide an appointment card with the date and time of the appointment. Reasons for being late, such as oversleeping, car trouble, personal issues, etc, are unacceptable and will result in the student reporting to the tardy room.
