Once again our kids have shown why they have propelled our school to one of the county's top-ranked speech and debate programs. This Saturday's County Championship proved to be a huge success for Lake Worth. 11 of our kids made it that far, an honor within itself, and 5 of them won. These 5 will now be heading to the National Chanpionship in Baltimore to compete against the best kids from all over the country.
The official rankings do not come out until Tuesday, but these 5 amazing kids had to place in the top-6 of the county in their specific event in order to move on to Nationals. Besides these 5 winners, 3 of our kids made it in as "alternates", just missing the mark. There is a chance that they could end up going too. Cecilia L. (Declamation), Brianna B. (Declamation), Jorge F. (Oral Interpretation), Rachel R. (Declamation), Aiden B.(Original Oratory).
Alternates: John H. and Qasim S. (Public Forum Debate) and Angelina C. (Dramatic Performance).
